We’re excited to announce that we're bringing org-wide container visibility and management together within the new Insights dashboard in the Chainguard Console, powered by Guardener. Guardener is available today in Early Access, and the Insights dashboard will be available in the coming weeks, populating automatically with data from Guardener.
In our The State of Trusted Open Source: June 2026 report, we found that 63.1% of all observed container vulnerabilities are high-severity, an increase of 13% quarter over quarter. Facing this rising risk, platform and security teams want to standardize on secure-by-default open source to prevent incidents. Making that switch practical at scale requires centralized migration management to roll out and enforce secure standards.
We created Guardener to solve this exact problem, automating the adoption and standardization of trusted open source across the software development lifecycle. With today's announcement, platform and security teams are getting powerful new tools to quantify their supply chain risk, along with a fast track to reducing it.
Let's dive in.
Discovery and Risk Assessment
Within the Chainguard Console, teams will have a dedicated tab to view and manage their container images: Insights.

This view is populated by data from Guardener, which continuously scans your organization’s GitHub repositories for open source container references across Dockerfiles, Helm charts, and Kubernetes manifests. It unlocks both a high-level environment overview and granular migration management.
At the top of the Insights dashboard, a summary view shows the total number of CVEs your organization has already mitigated, along with the potential CVE reduction achievable by standardizing on Chainguard Containers. This will give security and platform engineers the data they need to communicate concrete risk reduction to executive stakeholders.

At the per-container level, the dashboard inventories image names, versions, and repository counts, establishing a centralized source of truth for your container inventory. Alongside each entry, the dashboard displays the suggested Chainguard equivalent, eliminating manual mapping toil. It also highlights the difference in CVEs, making the security value of migrating a specific image immediately clear.

Information is only as useful as your ability to act on it. The Insights dashboard lets teams take action instantly by initiating migrations for individual container images or enabling automatic migrations at the org or repo level.
Migration and Standardization
Today, you can kick off migration for your container images with Guardener in the GitHub app. Add your configuration to the .yaml file, and Guardener will open pull requests with the suggested Chainguard swaps. Once the Insights dashboard launches, you'll be able to trigger the same migrations with a click, for individual images or across your whole org.

Beyond initial migrations, Guardener also drives ongoing standardization as an automated guardrail for day-to-day development. Operating seamlessly in the background, Guardener monitors pull requests for new Dockerfiles, Helm charts, or manifests. When it detects non-Chainguard container references, it posts a non-blocking review comment featuring a one-click suggestion for the hardened equivalent, ensuring developers are continuously guided toward the secure option.

Get Started
Together, the Insights dashboard and Guardener container migration support give customers a fast path to inventorying container images, measuring CVE exposure, and executing continuous remediation upfront and on an ongoing basis.
Container image migration in Guardener is available today in Early Access, with the Insights dashboard coming in the next few weeks. To auto-populate the dashboard when it becomes available, install the Chainguard App and configure Guardener as described in the docs.
